Ash - Mrs Patrick & Mrs Parkin

Welcome to Ash Class - Reception

 

Mrs Patrick and Mrs Parkin are the Reception class teachers and Mrs Burbidge and Mrs Broughton are the teaching assistants. We will be filling this page with exciting class news, pictures of things we've done and more.
 

Each day your child will require their water bottle in school.

Reading folders should be brought to school every Monday and Friday.

PE day is Friday, please come dressed in your PE kit and wear trainers or plimsolls.

Please can you make sure all coats, jumpers and cardigans are named. 

Home Learning 4.01.2021

Phonics

In phonics we are recapping learning the digraphs and trigraph - ar, or, ai, igh. We are learning to read the fast words 'was'.

Try reading and writing the words and sentences in the document below. The words with the monster are nonsense words, for practising blending skills.

Literacy

In Literacy this week we will be talking about what we have had for Christmas and then writing 'I had a ..........'. We will be using our phonics to hear initial and dominant phonemes (sounds) for example for chocolate they would write choclt. 

Number

In mental maths we are learning numeral 12, counting 12 claps, stomps, jumps etc. Recognsing numerals 1-12 and writing numeral 12. Counting in 1's from 0-50, in 2's from 0-20, in 5's from 0-100 and in 10's from 0-100.

Home Learning activity booklet

Remote Learning - For children not attending school due to Covid 19.

7.12.2020 

In phonics we are learning the diagraphs- oo , oo(u), ar, or. We will be reading words like boot, zoom, book, took, card, hard, fork and sort. Reading sentences 'I can zoom to the moon, the shark had sharp teeth'. Writing sentences 'This is a good book' and 'I can march in the dark'. We are also learning the fast word- was. 

The Number of the Week is 11, can you count 11 claps, jumps and nods. Can you write number 11 correctly. What is 1 more and 1 less than 11? 

In Maths we are ordering objects by height and using words like short, shorter, shortest, tall, taller and tallest. 

Don't forget to upload your work on Tapestry. 

30.11.20 - We are continuing our work around 'The Three Little Pigs'. Can you write the labels 'huff', 'puff' and 'pig'? Then have a go at writing the sentence, 'I will huff and puff.' It is art week in school and we will be looking at some of the work by Mondrian. Perhaps you could do a little research together. Try making your own picture in a similar style by drawing lines and filling some of the squares and rectangles you have made with blocks of colour. Don't forget to upload your work to Tapestry.

23.11.20 - This week we are continuing our work around the story 'The Three Little Pigs' and in maths we are learning about 2D shapes.
