Netherfield Infant School and Nursery

‘Working together to be the best that we can be’

Cherry - Mrs Goodall

Welcome to Cherry Tree Class (Nursery)

Mrs Goodall, Mrs Buck and Miss Hardwick are the nursery staff. You will also see Mrs Patrick on a Friday too. We will be using this page to keep you informed about what we have been doing in nursery.

Each day your child will require suitable clothing to access our outdoor provision. Also please encourage your child to bring their book bag on a Monday and Friday so that they can change their story book.

Please can you make sure their name is on all uniform and clothing, including coats and shoes, as we have found some clothes which unfortunately do not have names in and no-one has claimed them.

Contact The Teacher

If you have any questions please post them here and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Mrs Goodall

Song of the week

Each week the children learn a new nursery rhyme. It has been proven that when children hear and sing nursery rhymes, lullabies and simple songs, then we are preparing their ear, voice and brain for language development.

As from 5th January 2021 all remote learning is now on our online learning app 'Seesaw'.

Story Time

Let's Celebrate

Each week we choose a child from The Butterfly Team and The Ladybird Team who has tried really hard. It is specific to that child and can range from 'doing good sitting', 'joining in with singing our song of the week', 'counting using 1-1 correspondence' or 'writing their name'.

Butterfly of the week                                                                  Ladybird of the week

Remembrance Day - We had a minutes silence and made poppies to remember the solidiers who died in World War 1

The children have been singing "The little Green Frog" this term. We would like to share it with you for our Harvest performance.

October 2020 - Monster construction. We made a monster using wooden blocks and then added colourful counters to show his feelings are all mixed up.

October 2020 - We made our own colour monsters, using different types of glue to fix different media on.

(September 2020) Monster Faces - We have read the story "Colour Monster". Then the children made their own monster faces!
